Join Us for the 40th Student Exchange! UPCOMING 2024 | 2025
This Fall (2024) and next Spring (2025), a selected group of Medford High School Student Ambassadors will experience an exciting two-week exchange with Student Ambassadors, from Alba, Italy.
Since 1985, many Student Ambassadors have enjoyed this life-changing adventure, where they gain first-hand experience of a whole new culture, enjoy amazing cuisine, visit beautiful and ancient historic sites, and make lifelong friendships. Scheduled daily activities enable students to experience the differences and similarities of one another's country.
We look forward to introducing you to our 2024 Ambassadors & Chaperones and will share details as they become available. Stay tuned!

WHERE: The ancient yet modern city of Alba has been Medford’s Sister City since 1960 and is in northern Italy. Student exchanges in alternating years have taken place since 1985. Students experience family life & explore the region’s wonders.
EXCHANGE PREPARATION :
Summer 2024 - Attend some scheduled meetings for chaperones, ambassadors & parents/guardians to plan and build community in preparation for Italian's visit in September 2024.
Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 - Attend weekly meetings for chaperones, ambassadors & parents/guardians for fundraising, event organization, and Italian culture lessons.
GROUP FUNDRAISING: To ensure that all interested students are able to participate, group and individual fundraising efforts help offset the approximate $3,000 per student cost. This includes: airfare, preparation costs, entry fees, and spending money. This exchange requires a significant and sustained investment of time and energy from ambassadors and their parents/guardians for planning, fundraising, forming community, and Italian culture education.
